Co-boss gamble starts to look better

Tony Smith and Des McKeown should be sleeping a little better now. Since taking over their first management position at Stenhousemuir in February they have found wins hard to come by but, following their big summer personnel clear out, they have now recorded their first win at Ochilview in the CIS cup against Arbroath and an excellent away win at Cowdenbeath. The gratifying thing must be that their own choice of players seem to be coming good. John Paul Mcbride's wonderful free kick against Arbroath seemed to be the spur we had been looking for. McBride has looked terrific in his last three matches and if Joe Savage can start to rediscover the form he showed towards the end of last season, I believe we can be a threat to any team.
