Doris spot on for Red Lichties

A late Steven Doris penalty was enough to earn Arbroath a 1-0 win over Stenhousemuir.

Arbroath came into the game just one place above Stenhousemuir in the Second Division table in 2nd and were closest to opening the scoring as Doris' left-footed effort from the edge of the area struck the crossbar in the 49th minute.

The game's turning point came eight minutes from time when Stenhousemuir goalkeeper Chris McCluskey was adjudged to have fouled Doris inside the penalty area.

McCluskey's complaints earned him a red card for foul and abusive language before Doris stepped up to place his right-footed spot-kick into the bottom left-hand corner of the goal.

That sealed a first win in four games the Red Lichties.
