Berwick Rangers 0 Stenhousemuir 2

The Berwick bubble has well and truly burst after a third successive defeat enabled Stenhousemuir to leapfrog over them to the top of the table.

Rangers have failed to score in those three games and, hit by injuries, they are struggling to recapture their form.

Well-organised Stenny deserved to win, and on a pitch that deteriorated rapidly in the driving rain they used the ball much more effectively. John Paul McBride, who had earlier shot over from just four yards, atoned for his lapse with a well-structured shot after Colin Cramb had worked his way down the left and cut the ball back perfectly.

When Cramb, the league's top scorer, added a second six minutes into the second half, the result was never in doubt. Berwick lost the ball in midfield, it was quickly switched to Cramb and, after missing his first attempt, he blasted home the second.

Rangers worked hard in the last half hour and Kevin Gordon missed a chance at the near post and had another effort deflected for a corner.

The visitors defended very well, and now Rangers will be forced to play catch up.
