Five-star Coult too hot for Warriors

Lewis Coult's fifth goal of the season helped secure Cowdenbeath's 2-0 victory over Stenhousemuir and maintain their position at the top of the table.

The Blue Brazil went in front after 15 minutes when Greg Stewart picked up David Cowan's cross and rifled a shot into the corner.

The Warriors tried to respond, with Iain Thomson's fierce drive forcing goalkeeper Thomas Flynn into a smart save.

Brown Ferguson went agonisingly close to equalising after 70 minutes, but he planted his header wide with the goal at his mercy.

The hosts made the away side pay three minutes from time when Coult evaded his marker to powerfully head home Jon Robertson's inviting centre.

They almost added a third in injury time, but Cowan's tame effort was saved by Alistair Brown.
