Dumbarton 0-1 Stenhousemuir- Report

Striker Scott Dalziel scored an injury-time winner to give Stenhousemuir a 1-0 victory over basement club Dumbarton.

After a poor match the dead-lock was finally broken in the third minute of injury-time, with almost the last kick of the game, when Grant Plenderleith squared for Dalziel to score his first goal of the season.

Ross Clark forced a fine save from Dumbarton goalkeeper Stephen Grindley, while at the other end Patrick Walker struck wide from close range in the opening five minutes.

However, the clash then fizzled out until the 89th minute when Stenhousemuir goalkeeper Chris McCluskey tipped Mark Gilhaney's 20-yard strike round the post.

The save was all the more important for the Warriors when Dalziel popped up in stoppage time.

Stenhousemuir move one place up to eighth and Dumbarton are now stranded five points from safety at the bottom of the table.
