These two sides meet again in the first round of the Scottish cup in two weeks time, but today's match probably raised more questions than answers to the outcome of the cup clash.

Stenhousemuir had enough chances to win at least two games, but manager Des McKeown, said: "If you don't get your chances you don't win matches."

The visitors should have had a comfortable two-goal cushion by the break, and the first chance was missed by Paul McGrillen, who should have benefited from a short pass-back by Jordan Smith but needed too much time on the ball and was caught and crowded out by the chasing defenders.

The second chance fell to Colin Cramb, who timed his run beautifully to pick up a Joe McAlpine pass and he was unlucky to see his shot come back off the upright.

The biggest miss by the visitors was from the penalty spot when the unlucky Smith was red-carded for a mis-timed challenge on Cramb, which was down more to the greasy surface.

Five minutes earlier the Warriors' John McKeown was also red-carded for an alleged hand-ball offence which again was down to the bad conditions.

Keeper Derek Jackson saved McGrillen's spot-kick and Stenhousemuir almost paid the penalty for their missed opportunities. They can thank goalkeeper William McCulloch, who ensured at least one point with a flying save from Iain Diack's cracking drive in the final minutes.
