Stenhousemuir boss Des McKeown had concerns about this fixture as his side had already lost to the Shire earlier this season.

However, the visitors were never in any dangerr of losing this one, although their opening goal had an element of luck about it.

Paul Murphy hammered in a long shot, and although Shire keeper Derek Jackson had the ball covered it bounced off a divot and over his back and into the net as he dived.

There was no such luck about the visitors' second as Tom Sinclair sent a 25-yard dipping volley into the top corner with the keeper looking on.

Stenhousemuir continued to dominate, and the strong-running Joe Savage created the visitors' third. He took the ball down the left-hand side of the penalty area, before cutting back to David Morrision, who swept a first-time shot past the helpless keeper.

The home side gained some consolation just before the interval when Steven Oates scored their opening goal with a header from a Chris McGroarty corner.

It was very much damage limitation for Shire during the second half, but they lost another goal after 51 minutes. A corner taken by substitute Craig Menzies was headed against the cross bar by Robbie Henderson, and Paul McGrillen was on hand to put the ball over the line as iit dropped down.

The Warriors' keeper William McCulloch was given a red card for handling the ball outside the penalty area, but even with 10 men the visitors were never in any danger of losing the match.
