An astonishing fightback by Queens Park, who twice came back from two goals behind to beat Stenhousemuir at a rain-soaked Hampden, ended The Spiders' horrendous run of four successive defeats.

Billy Stark's men fell behind after only 12 minutes when referee Ian Fyfe awarded a penalty following a trip by Alan Trouten on Paul McGrillen.

McGrillen fired home the penalty himself to put the Warriors ahead.

Frankie Carroll missed a great chance to equalise for Queens when he failed to connect with Stuart Kettlewell's cross in the 28th minute and the home side found themselves 2-0 down shortly afterwards when Martin Lauchlan took advantage of a great through ball from Ryan Davidson before steering his effort beyond goalkeeper David Crawford.

The home side pulled one back early in the second half when Ross Clark drove home from Carroll's cut back, but Stenny's two-goal advantage was quickly restored when Davidson collected a quickly taken free-kick from John-Paul McBride before sending an angular shot past Crawford.

The Queens revival began on the hour when Mark Ferry scored from a Kettlewell cross and they equalised 10 minutes later from the penalty spot, Clark scoring after Carroll had been brought down by Paul Murphy.

The Hampden side's miraculous recovery was completed nine minutes from time when Carroll's low cross was deflected by Murphy into his own net to give Queens a remarkable 4-3 victory.
