Elgin travel home after a comfortable win against Stenhousemuir at Ochilview Park.

Both goals came from Alec Bone, who opened the scoring for City in the 29th minute when a shot from 16 yards out took a slight deflection off Paul Murphy and flew into the net.

Both attempts had been set up by the ever dangerous Calum Reid who had added a cutting edge to the Elgin attack.

Bone extended the lead in the 59th minute when he converted from the penalty spot after Andy Roddie was tripped in the box by John Knox, who had only come onto the pitch 30 seconds earlier.

The closest that the home side came to scoring was when substitute Jo Savage struck a stunning shot at Kieron Renton, who tipped it on to the bar after 71 minutes.

Savage was thwarted once again shortly afterwards when Renton made another fine save.

As the game progressed it was Elgin who looked more likely to score and only several last-ditch interceptions prevented Bone scoring his hat-trick.

The main strength came from Reid who received a standing ovation from the small band of Elgin supporters when he was substituted in stoppage time.
