League leaders Peterhead make the long journey home from Ochilview Park with all three points to maintain their 100 per cent record away from Balmoor.

For the first period of this game, however, it looked as if it was going to be the home side that would win as they caused the Blue Toon defence problems throughout the first 45 minutes.

Stenhousemuir took a deserved lead in the 28th minute. Paul McGrillen had beaten the offside trap almost on the half way line, and his run caught the Peterhead defence flat-footed. He picked out David McInally's run and McInally fired home via the base of the post.

Peterhead caused more of a threat in the second half, and Jamie Buchan twice came close with thundering shots that home keeper William McCulloch did well to stop.

They eventually made the breakthough in the 68th minute in controversial fashion. Martin Bavidge had spun round a tackle by Lee Collins and advanced into the box. Robbie Henderson made a sliding tackle clearly winning the ball, but to the amazement of everyone referee Crawford Allen thought otherwise and awarded a penalty which Scott Michie converted.

Michie then scored a second nine minutes later to put Peterhead in the driving seat -and there was going to be no way back for Stenhousemuir after this setback.
