Stenhousemuir V Albion at Ochilview Park - Match Preview

Fairley set for Stenny debut

Stenhousemuir have included newly signing Connor Fairley in their squad to face visitors Albion Rovers.

However the former Celtic, Hearts and Airdrie goalkeeper is likely to begin his Warriors career on the bench.

The Ochilview side are again without the injured trio of Craig Anderson, John Gemmell and Andy Rodgers with manager Martyn Corrigan asking his men to tighten up at the back.

Corrigan said: "We seem to be in the habit of conceding sloppy goals and I want it to end.

"It is great that we have the spirit that saw us get a point at Arbroath last week with a late goal but if we had not given away goals we would not have needed to and actually won the game."

Albion captain Ciaran Donnelly could be missing.

The defender has a niggling hamstring problem with manager Todd Lumsden giving him until Saturday lunchtime to prove his fitness.

Lumsden is not too disappointed that his former team-mate John Gemmell is missing from the Stenhousemuir attack as he explained. "John was a very popular figure with our supporters and he missed our first meeting as he was suspended and he will be missing this one through injury. He was a great player for us and has carried on in that way with his new club.

"Our first meeting ended 4-4 so I know Stenhousemuir are capable of scoring goals without John so we cannot relax especially as they have had two games recently and we haven't."
