Former Dundee defender Eric Paton, who played as a trialist in the league at the weekend, in ineligible, while midfielder Iain Thomson is suspended.

Striker Scott Dalziel is a doubt, while defender Scott Gibb and forward Simon Lynch are short of fitness.

Third Division leaders Stranraer, who held Stenny to a 0-0 draw at Ochilview Park are looking to bounce back from Saturday's league 2-1 defeat away to Elgin City.

The visitors arrive after a confidence-boosting 1-0 win over Airdrie United that lifted them into eighth place in Division Two.

They and Stranraer have the added incentive of a home tie in the next round against Scottish Premier League outfit Motherwell.

Stranraer manager Keith Knox: "It was close last week and will be close this week.

"But hopefully we can get a decent crowd behind us at Stair Park and cheer us to victory.

"I am hoping that losing at Borough Briggs is the wee reminder that the players needed - that we will not do anything if we do not all work hard."

Stenhousemuir manager David Irons: "That was a really disappointing performance from us.

"And the only positive I took from it as that we were still in the cup."
